J. Crew Ditches Models For Fall AD Campaign, Goes With Stylish ‘Real’ People Instead

In this day and age, we draw fashion inspiration from those with great style among us and those we pass on the streets, as well as from the glossy pages of our favorite fashion magazines. What would happen if the two were to intertwine? What would it be like if the creative directors of our favorite brands, chose ‘real’ people just like you and me with great style and featured them in an ad campaign? The style gods were working in someone’s favor because that’s exactly what happened with J. Crew’s Fall Ad campaign.

J. Crew took on street style for their latest  campaign by going against the norm, dishing models and instead using a wide range of fashion insiders for its fall campaign. J. Crew tapped Julia Sarr-Jamois, Fashion Editor at Wonderland Magazine, Joe Carlucci, a Contemporary Art Business Director, and David Karp, the CEO of Tumblr. Okay so maybe these people really are as close to ‘real’ people as me and you.As you view the  campaign, take a look at their occupations.

  1. I love J Crew (I shop there frequently) and this makes me love them more. Lanvin has done this as well and I think it is awesome.
Also, I nominated you for the Beautiful Blogger Award. I think your blog is fantastic and really interesting.
