It’s for those of who dream of shoes, and then wake up and are motivated byOn Monday, Barneys unveiled its new addition to the store, the shoe floor which is located on the fifth floor and features shoes for both men and women. If you frequent Barney’s online store for shoes, I know that like me, you can only begin to imagine what it must be like to sit one of those super comfy couches and take in the wonderful world of shoes around us. *dreamy sigh* Instead of us simply imagining, I thought we could take in some of the amazing reviews of the shoe floor itself, until we can experience it for ourselves of course.
LuckyMag: The entire fifth floor has been transformed into a shoe lover’s heaven on earth (http://www.luckymag.com/blogs/luckyrightnow/2012/07/The-New-Shoe-Floor-at-Barneys-Is-SICK)
Simon Doonan: The new floor, I am delirious! It’s so beautiful and I think it’s just this big glamourous dream palace of shoes. The magic of it is, you’ve never been able to see the shoes more clearly. It’s about beautiful architecture and lighting…. and, drum roll… the merchandise. Hello! You can really see everything in a way which makes it exquisite and fabulous. The Window: With open space and minimal walls, the floor’s environment is consistent with Barneys’ gallery aesthetic and Madison Avenue’s newly renovated women’s ground floor, which will be unveiled in September. The design includes white Italian marble walls, tables made of glass and ebony macassar wood, limestone flooring, plenty of natural light and iPad stations throughout, with access to Barneys.com and yours truly, The Window.
