Earlier this week, on Tuesday to be exact, editors, bloggers, and shoppers gathered at Louis Vuitton’s Fifth Avenue flagship to see the much-anticipated Yayoi Kusama collaboration in person. This collaboration comes as no surprise as Louis Vuitton is known for spectacular collaborations with artists, with Richard Prince and Takashi Murakami among them. “The Japanese artist, along with Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Yves Carcelle, counted down the unveiling of the window installations, which featured wax figurines of Yayo and a nearly life-size version that confused a few tourists.”
While being at the unveiling would have been a to-die-for experience, I bring you the next best thing, pictures from this fun-filled fashion event. Something about the polka-dots is both glamorous and youthful. Take a look at the plethora of Louis Vuitton handbags, “a bunch of well-groomed males, and the dottiness of it all” captured by none other than Photographer Bek Andersen.
