Spring/Summer Trend Watch: Peplums
Peplum silhouettes are a major trend this season, and I do mean MAJOR. They are everywhere. Runways. Magazines. Blogs. Celebrities. You name it, there’s a peplum piece in, on , or somewhere around it.
In case you didn’t know, the word ‘peplum’ refers to a piece with a ruffle around the waist, which adds volume while creating a flattering hourglass shape. Tops, skirts, dresses and jackets have undergone a peplum makeover this season and it looks like this trend will be sticking around for at least the rest of the year. And why shouldn’t it? It’s fabulous!
Peplum pieces are great because they celebrate the unique shape of a woman, while adding glamour in a very simple form. Every woman should invest in at least one peplum piece. I certainly will be investing in a few soon! Whether ripping the runway, attending an event, or having a night on the town with the girls, wearing a peplum piece will definitely have you making a statement and turning heads.
